SolidWorks Installation Manager is the official setup and deployment utility for SOLIDWORKS products. It guides individuals and IT administrators through downloading, installing, updating, modifying, or repairing SOLIDWORKS and related components, while handling licensing, prerequisites, and deployment options. Designed for reliability and scale, it supports both single-machine installations and enterprise rollouts.

Key capabilities:

• Guided installs for SOLIDWORKS and eligible add-ons (e.g., Simulation, Flow Simulation, Plastics, Visualize, Composer, Inspection, Electrical client, CAM, eDrawings, PDM Client, and the SolidNetWork License Manager), based on your entitlements.
• Modify, repair, or uninstall existing installations; upgrade to new service packs or major versions, with options to keep prior versions side-by-side.
• License setup for standalone activation or network licensing (SNL), including serial number management and product selection.
• Download management from SOLIDWORKS servers or use of local media; supports resuming downloads and validating files. Works with the SOLIDWORKS Background Downloader when enabled.
• Administrative image creation for centralized, unattended deployments with configurable settings for large-scale environments.
• Automatic prerequisite checks and installation (for example, Microsoft .NET and Visual C++ redistributables, and SQL Server Express for certain components like PDM clients).
• System validation for OS compatibility, available disk space, required permissions, and other readiness checks.
• Proxy and firewall configuration options to support controlled network environments.
• Clear installation summaries and detailed logging to simplify troubleshooting.
